MISSISSAUGA, ON, March 9, 2026 – Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada (MMSCAN) has officially launched the 2026 edition of its flagship Outlander PHEV compact sport utility vehicle featuring key refinements thanks to a mid-cycle refresh.
Going on sale this month at the brand’s 97 dealers across Canada, the 2026 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV features significant refinements highlighted by a new 22.7 kWh battery offering 72 km of EV-only range — up 18% from the previous edition. Total combined driving range is now 690 km while combined efficiency improves to 3.2 Le/100 km and gas-only efficiency improves to 8.6L/100 km1 for both city and highway driving. The new battery has also increased EV power output, resulting in faster acceleration and a better overall driving experience.
On the outside, the Outlander PHEV gets a styling refresh including striking new wheels on all trims, as well as retuned suspension, and both tire and steering updates that improve ride comfort and handling. The updated vehicle is also quieter thanks to additional sound deadening and vibration improvements.
Inside Canada’s best-selling plug-in hybrid vehicle, the three-row interior gets even better, with a new centre console design, new seat materials and colour options, and the addition of the Dynamic Sound Yamaha audio on all trims. There’s also a new 12.3-inch infotainment display, as well as updated digital driver display graphics.
The Outlander PHEV is available in seven trims starting with the ES S-AWC at $49,998², which qualifies for the new $2,500 Federal Electric Vehicle Affordability Program rebate.
