- Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada announces 2025 partnership with Food Banks Canada
- 100% of Mitsubishi dealers across Canada are participating in this year’s campaign
- Mitsubishi will announce final donation totals on World Food Day, Thursday, Oct. 16
MISSISSAUGA, ON, September 4, 2025 – Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada (MMSCAN) is renewing its Driving to End Hunger campaign with Food Banks Canada after raising more than $500,000 over the past four years. For the first time, every Mitsubishi Motors dealer across the country will take part, expanding support for food banks in the communities where they operate.
Canadians once again have the chance to support their neighbours through this year’s national food drive, which started Monday, Sept. 1. Throughout September, every Mitsubishi Motors dealership in the country will collect food, non-perishables and funds, while also hosting events and other initiatives to strengthen local food banks.
This year, MMSCAN will contribute $100,000 to Food Banks Canada to support food security programs across the country, including in communities without a local Mitsubishi Motors dealership.
“Driving to End Hunger is more than a campaign. It reflects our values,” said Kenichi Kawaji, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Canada. “This year, we saw 100% participation from our dealer network across the country — a powerful sign of our shared commitment to helping Canadians in need. This effort unites our staff, dealers and customers as one Mitsubishi family. We’re proud to help build a Canada where no one is left behind.”
Kirstin Beardsley, Chief Executive Officer, Food Banks Canada, said food bank usage has reached the highest levels in Canadian history with over two million visits in a single month.
“At such a critical time, Food Banks Canada is grateful for Mitsubishi Motors’ continued partnership. Through the Driving to End Hunger campaign, Mitsubishi has once again supported Food Banks Canada and communities across the country who need it most,” Beardsley said. “Thank you for your ongoing generosity and for joining our mission to relieve hunger today and prevent hunger tomorrow.”
The Driving to End Hunger campaign runs from Sept. 1 to 30, with dealerships delivering donations to community food banks Oct. 1 to 10. Mitsubishi and local dealers will announce donation totals on World Food Day, Thursday, Oct. 16.
Beyond dealer activities, employees at Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada’s head office will volunteer with Food Banks Mississauga in October. At the national level, contributions to Food Banks Canada can also be made through the Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada website at mitsubishi-motors.ca/en/drivingtoendhunger

Food Banks Canada provides national leadership to relieve hunger today and prevent hunger tomorrow in collaboration with the food bank network from coast to coast to coast. For 40 years, food banks have been dedicated to helping people living with food insecurity. Over 5,100 food banks and community organizations come together to serve our most vulnerable neighbours who this year made 1.9 million visits to these organizations in one month alone, according to our HungerCount report. Over the past 10 years, as a system we’ve sourced and shared over 1.4 billion pounds of food and Food Banks Canada shared nearly $168 million in funding to help maximize collective impact and strengthen local capacity – while advocating for reducing the need for food banks.
